The hostel offers an excellent value for money with a fantastic location right by the Bow River and hiking trails. The communal atmosphere was enjoyable, allowing for friendly interactions, but the cleanliness and comfort of the facilities left much to be desired. The lack of private bathrooms and the noisy environment made sleep a challenge, but the ability to cook in the kitchen was a nice perk after days of dining out.
Rooms

The rooms were quite basic with shared bathrooms. The twin beds were uncomfortable and creaky, and the lack of soundproofing contributed to a noisy environment.

I had a mixed experience at the YWCA. The pricing for a private room was excellent, especially since it was right next to the Banff Springs. The cleanliness was commendable, but I encountered significant noise issues which made my stay less enjoyable. Also, while the staff was incredibly helpful, the room quality left much to be desired, with outdated furnishings and uncomfortable bedding.

This lodge is perfectly located right in downtown Banff, making it super convenient for exploring the area. The room was quite small but clean, and considering the price, it was decent value for an overnight stay. However, the shared bathroom setup may not be ideal for everyone. The on-site café offered tasty meals throughout the day, making dining easy and affordable.

The hotel offers a decent value for those on a budget with a clean bed and a good location close to the city center. While the facilities are functional, they are showing signs of age and need a little TLC. The dining options were reasonably priced but not extraordinary. Parking may be challenging during peak times, adding a bit of inconvenience.

I found the lodge to be budget-friendly with an unbeatable price for the location. The rooms were basic, but it was nice that I could access shared bathrooms without any issues. However, the kitchen area was often messy, and Wi-Fi was unreliable, which put a damper on my stay. Overall, it’s great for those wanting to save money while enjoying the beautiful area.

I had a wonderful stay at the YMCA hotel during the Canada Day long weekend. The location is unbeatable, making it so easy to explore Banff, and the room was clean and spacious for a budget option. However, the noise insulation was a bit lacking, which impacted my sleep on one of the nights. Overall, it's a fantastic value for the price, especially with a lovely on-site dining option.
